Jean n' James

There is a lady who's coming to town
But she don't know where she's goin
She gets off the train it still feels the same
As the last time coming or goin
And she has a name
Of a friend of James

She walks through the streets hoping to meet
The one she's been lookin
She gets to the bar the one on the card
A friend of James is looking
He asks her name
I'm the friend of James

You'll soon meet other people like me
Think you'll find we're good company
Seeing you're only here for a while
Let's go paint the town in style
Takes her bags to the door
Accross the street the corner store

Her bags are put to the side back room
She hears music playin
Enters in met with smiles and grins
Good start to the evenin
Then she hears her name
Your the friend of James

Let's tear a strip off this old dance floor
Dance, dance, dance til our feet are sore
Hope you like your visit here
You've chosen a good time of year
Tomorrow is another day
Everyone meets at the town cafe

She sits with a coffee at the town cafe
Looking at the blue sky
Feeling pretty good about the day ahead
Then has a wonderful surprise
She exclaimed
James, James, James!

Sure is good to see your face again
Beats using paper and pen
I have so much to share with you
Great big hugs as they always do
This is my sweet hometown
Come let me show you round

They walk all around as he showed her the town
Telling his favourite stories
She fills him in on how she's been
About her latest journeys
Her soulful change
Travelling new terrains

She said goodbye and James stood by
Watching the train approaching
In his heart sad she must depart
Soul filled with longing
He called her name
Jean, Jean, Jean!

I think I should come along with you
We'de have fun how we always do
Do you mind if I meet you there
I'll need a day to sort stuff here
She smiled no need to explain
Always happy with you James

Jean and James are coming to town
You'll find them travelling all around
In each others company
No other place they'd rather be
Happy in their roving ways
Taking life day by day
