Sharing Stories

Been here many times before
Said a voice from the table next door
I was sipping coffee and reading the news
I looked up to a wizened face
Blue eyes held me in my place
He said, “I have a story or two
If you have the time, I have the mind
To share my stories with you”

He said “I don't want to forget
The people that I've met
The way they've helped me in my life...that's right
I will never regret, the hours that I've spent
Sharing caring stories over coffee's a great way to spend time”

I didn't know what to say
Just finished a busy day
He seemed to be sincere
I smiled and said “that's fine
Before you start, I'll get in line
I need a dark roast coffee refill”

One story lead to another
About life and things he'd discovered
A man, looking for a friend

I enjoyed his company
He made an impression on me
I'm so glad I came to this cafe, today

Because I don't want to forget
The people that I've met
The way they've helped me in my life, that's right
I will never regret, the hours that I've spent
Sharing caring stories over coffee's a great way to spend time
Sharing caring stories over coffee's a great way to spend time
Sharing caring stories over coffee's a great way to spend time
